I am currently completing my doctoral degree in psychology at Adler Professional Graduate School. I have a Master’s degree in psychology from Adler’s and a Bachelor of Science honours degree in psychology from York University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. My honours thesis was completed at Baycrest Hospital and focused on validating an assessment for the hospital’s memory programs. I have also worked in several research settings. At the Alzheimer's Society of York Region, I provided group art therapy and recorded behavioural observations of group members; I also administered cognitive assessments such as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). In addition, I contributed to the research of a York University Master's level thesis examining the efficacy of online learning in schools. I have experience providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment services to a variety of clients.

I operate from a biopsychosocial perspective and employ an integrative approach, mostly drawing on evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive-behavioural, dialectical behavioural, and psychodynamic therapy. These treatment approaches can be used to alleviate anxiety and depression and improve self-esteem, overall mood, interpersonal relationships and identity issues. Each treatment plan and therapeutic approach is modified to fit each client's unique needs. The populations with which I work are adults and couples. In the first few sessions, we focus on collaboratively setting and identifying goals; jointly deciding on the most appropriate treatment to meet these goals; building therapeutic rapport; and gaining an understanding of the presenting issues. After this, we can work towards attaining your goals and achieving symptom relief. We will also identify the deeper underlying causes of symptoms and examine core values to ensure enduring changes and guard against relapse. My style is collaborative, positivistic, and client-focused.

In addition to psychotherapy, I also provide a variety of assessment services (psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, personality, ADHD, autism spectrum, and vocational). My work is supervised by Dr. Lisa Bradford and Dr. Johan Reis.

I look forward to working with you.
