I believe therapy can be a place for healing, empowerment, self-improvement, and growth. In our initial session, we will work together to determine your therapy goals by gaining a deeper understanding of the presenting issues that may prevent you from creating meaningful change in your life. Often, we can get stuck in repeated patterns, emotions, and self-limiting beliefs that hold us back from living fulfilling lives. Together, we will identify your strengths and resources to develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and acceptance and explore your values and what makes life purposeful for you. By building up your capacity for resilience, I will help you take ownership to make those positive changes you want to see.
In my practice, I regularly draw upon a range of evidence-based methods such as emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and existential, psychodynamic, somatic, and internal family systems (IFS) therapy.
I also support couples and have completed my clinical training in the Gottman Couples Therapy Method. Many issues in relationships arise from poor communication and unmet needs that continue to cause strain in the relationship. With my support, I’ll help you and your partner work through these deeper issues and what is needed to heal and strengthen your bond.
I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Master’s degree in Marketing and Innovation from the UK. In addition to my clinical experience, I have completed the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Program at Queen’s University, as well as training in Polyvagal Theory from the Polyvagal Institute, and Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence Leadership with the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I provide a safe, respectful, non-judgmental space that supports all individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and communities.
