When we experience hardship and suffering, this can make it difficult to “show up” in our life in a way that is meaningful and authentic. As a therapist, I provide a highly empathic approach to help individuals with different forms of anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, relationship issues, ADHD, and self-esteem and assertiveness needs. We can also explore aspects of spirituality, and I can help you navigate important academic, career, and life transitions and adjustments.

My approach to psychotherapy is attachment based and draws on empirically-supported principles from well-established traditions including cognitive-behavioural, humanistic, client-centred, emotion-focused, and psychodynamic therapy. My approach also deeply integrates concerns related to social, cultural and other factors that impact each person uniquely. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals in university mental health clinics, hospitals (inpatient and outpatient), and private practice.

In terms of education, I have a M.Sc. degree in Psychology and am in the final stage of my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at York University. I am currently creating a scale to measure the subjective experience of mental effort. I hope this new scale, the Mental Effort Questionnaire (MEQ), will be a useful clinical tool in the assessment and treatment of ADHD. I have received two Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Research Awards and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship.

I am supervised by Dr. Lisa Bradford, a clinical and counselling psychologist.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you move forward with your life in a way that feels personally meaningful.
