Beginning a therapeutic journey can often feel overwhelming, and I congratulate you on taking this first step in seeking support. My priority is to provide a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space for you and I to work together on addressing any issues that you are facing. Your comfort and safety are of paramount importance, and you are welcome to share whatever you feel comfortable sharing with me. Our first appointment together will focus on what you are looking for in a therapist, as well as goals for your mental health and well-being. We will go over your personal background, your experiences, and the issues you want to explore in therapy.

My therapeutic style is based in the cognitive-behavioural modality (including some dialectical behaviour therapy [DBT] components), with an emphasis on mindfulness, psychodynamic theory and a trauma-informed approach. I also often pull from family systems theory, and I carefully consider sociological and colonial impacts on mental health. I work with a diverse group of individuals who vary in terms of personal and cultural background, socioeconomic status, gender, and sexual orientation. The decolonization and destigmatization of mental health are an important part of my belief system, and so is the collaboration of client and therapist. We will work together on building a trusting therapeutic relationship, in which you feel well supported and understood.

I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, with an additional focus in Sociology and Criminology. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
