I offer a safe space where you can feel comfortable exploring aspects of yourself and sharing difficult experiences and challenges. We will work together to create a relationship in which you feel accepted, validated, encouraged, and heard.

When life becomes stressful or overwhelming, sometimes we can feel stuck. It can be difficult to find the motivation for change. In our work together, I can help you to recognize behaviours or patterns that are no longer serving you, and we can explore new strategies for coping with and working through whatever challenges you are facing. My style is empathic and sincere, and I come from a place of gentle curiosity and non-judgement. I address issues such as low mood, anxiety, panic, stress, anger, self-esteem, relationship problems, previous trauma, difficulty with school or work, grief, and loss. I can also help support you through life transitions and paths toward personal growth and self-understanding. In addition to psychotherapy, I have extensive experience conducting psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments (e.g., ADHD, learning disabilities).

I carefully consider how our experiences may have been impacted and shaped by cultural, religious, and systemic factors. I also believe that our early relationships with attachment figures often serve as the basis of our adult relationship patterns, as well as our views about ourselves and the world. Early on, we will spend some time gathering information about your history, so I can come to understand the context in which you came to be your unique self.

Through our work, I will help you gain a greater understanding of the connections between your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, and we can come up with strategies for changing unhelpful patterns. I offer psychotherapy using an integrated approach tailored to your individual style and concerns. I incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, humanistic, psychodynamic, dialectical behavioral, and emotion-focused modalities, as well as components of interpersonal therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. In session, we will work together to develop goals suited to your needs, and collaboratively create a plan to help you to address the problems that are distressing you, while overcoming barriers to change. I feel honoured to help support my clients in their journeys toward restoration, growth, and self-discovery.

I have a Ph.D. in Counselling and Clinical Psychology from OISE/University of Toronto. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Psychology) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a Master of Arts (Clinical and Counselling Psychology) from OISE/University of Toronto. My research areas to date have included intimate relationship functioning, work-life balance, secondary traumatic stress and burnout, multiculturalism in counselling, and LGBTQ+ mental health.

I work under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Bradford, a clinical and counselling psychologist.
